Enjoy a better riding experience, with the BMW Motorrad communication system.

The roar of the engine and the sound of the wind rushing by are an integral part of the motorcycle experience. We don’t want to change that experience – we just want to make it even better. For example, background noise can often make communications difficult, but with the BMW Motorrad communication system, that simply isn’t an issue any more. The key is its location: the device is actually fitted to the inside of the helmet, and so the shell absorbs almost all the external noise. Riders are connected in a variety of ways, with the system allowing them to talk directly to their passenger, take calls, and listen to music, all while their GPS guides them safely to their destination. And all without having to take their eyes off the road for a second.

Communication Systems available for BMW System 5 and System 6 Helmets

•    Wireless voice communication between two helmets for rider and passenger on one motorcycle; range up to 10 metres.
•    Wireless communication with other Bluetooth devices such as mobile phones, navigation devices and music

•    Bluetooth technology is used for data transfer.
Bluetooth communications is a short-range radio-transmission technology implementing a very simple wireless communications protocol between Bluetooth-compatible devices over short distances. The advantage of Bluetooth is that no line-of-sight connection is needed. The typical range of Bluetooth devices is about 10 metres. Bluetooth communications are intercept-proof in the public, license-free 2.4 GHz frequency range (2.4 – 2.483 GHz), which is available world-wide.
•    Easy operation by means of three buttons on the left side of the helmet.
